excursions If you have been inspired to see the last two films in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy and dream of taking to the seas, it may not be as out of reach as you may think.
The Bahamas
Parts of the last two Pirates of the Caribbean films were shot among the hundreds of islands that make up the Bahamas, and for good reason.
The Bahaman capital, Nassau, was home to the infamous pirates Calico Jack Rackham, Blackbeard, and the female pirates Anne Bonny and Mary Read.
To find out more you could visit the Pirates of Nassau Museum or tour Fort Charlotte’s underground passages, dungeons, and drawbridge.
Some of the islands and cays (pronounced keys) still keep their pirate links, with boat trips available to Blackbeard’s Cay, around 25 minutes from Nassau.
