lodging  Sheraton Cable Beach Resort seems to be following the lead of Atlantis in now offering its own one-day all-access pass to cruise ship passengers, a market increasingly important to this struggling destination.

“Our $99 day pass will give the thousands of cruise passengers and ‘day guests’ Nassau receives every week, an alternative experience that offers the service and comforts that only a full-service resorts can provide,” said Sheraton director of sales and marketing Andrew Neubauer.

The challenge for the newly renovated hotel will be to win them over from another, more-amply endowed resort. At least, that may be the customers’ perception.

Neubauer’s $99 day pass may be cheaper than Atlantis’ $105 day pass and offers the same beach and pool experience as that Paradise Island competitor. Still, the rival’s established reputation, to say nothing of its aquarium, will likely challenge any attempts to pull cruise passengers away, especially if children are in tow.

That doesn’t diminish the saleman’s optimism, however.

“In addition, with our variety of dining and amenities, distinctive Sheraton service and beautifully redesigned accommodations and public spaces,” Neubauer said, “we are confident our day guests will fall in love with the Sheraton Cable Beach Resort and will want to come back.

“For them, we are offering special savings on a future, longer stay.”
