cuisine The Hard Rock Café in Nassau celebrated its first birthday last Friday, 8th October.
Over 300 guests packed the Charlotte Street location of this world-famous restaurant franchise. The event – sponsored by Heineken and Jagermeister – combined giveaway prizes all night long with a Grand Prize Holiday for two at the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando. Local favourite Joey Jams spun the wheels, with 100 Jamz hosting a remote broadcast early in the evening.
“We are thrilled to have come through our first year of business here in Nassau,” said Keith Doyle, General Manager and Vice-President of Strategic Development for Hard Rock Caribbean Ltd. “The success of the Hard Rock here in The Bahamas can be attributable to many elements, but mostly the devotion and professionalism of our staff. I have been thrilled with the commitment to excellence that our employees bring to their work every day. They are truly Bahamian Rock Stars!”
The Hard Rock Café in Nassau actually opened its doors as a Retail operation in December 2000, but it was not until October 2003 that the full restaurant and bar commenced business. It welcomed over 250,000 diners in its first year.
Hard Rock Café operates over 105 restaurants globally, and has recently expanded into Hotels, Casinos and Live Events with astonishing success. Each location keeps the core elements of rock n’ roll music, food and good times, wrapping it all up with a local flavour and the Nassau Café is no different. The first thing anyone sees upon walking into the door is the Baha-Men’s Grammy Award for “Who let the Dog’s out?,” and daily specials are on offer in which the Hard Rock Kitchen add a musical taste to Bahamian flare.
The Café AGM, Colin Doyle, believes the acceptance of Hard Rock by Bahamians has helped to create an atmosphere unique amongst Café’s worldwide. Asked on Friday night why so many party-goers felt like celebrating Hard Rock’s birthday, Colin replied, “Eventhough we are a global brand, the staff and local customers at Hard Rock Nassau feel part of the family. They are celebrating their own birthday here tonight! We really live and breathe our motto Love All, Serve All.”
Hard Rock Café Nassau is fast becoming the only place to party every weekend. Regular guest DJ Joey Jams plays Friday nights, and ZNS broadcasts live Karaoke on Saturdays.
As the saying is fast becoming, Elvis isn’t dead, he’s alive and well at the Hard Rock Nassau!
