outislands  The Bahamas are a long string of islands stretching more than 180 miles off the southeast coast of Florida.

There are about 700 islands and islets and nearly 2,400 cays (pronounced “keys”). Most of the islands are low and rocky.

The Abacos are the northernmost group of the Bahamas.
