newsandinfo  Major developments are in store for The Bahamas Film Studios at Gold Rock Creek, Grand Bahama’s premiere movie facility, which yesterday announced plans for a new management team.

Executives of the $75 million state-of-the-art recording production studio announced that former Chief Operating Officer Paul R. Quigley has been relieved of all duties from the company.

And with Diana McGonigal now named the new acting director of operations, officials said that they will declare their additional board of directors in the near future.

“The corporation decided to take on new changes within its executive board,” said Ross Fuller, chairman and director of The Bahamas Film Studio. “The board realizes that it was time to take the company to the next level.”

While no other changes to the board of directors has commenced, Fuller said that executives are currently working together to compile the final members.

“We are working with an advisory board whose members are made up of well-known names in the entertainment industry,” Fuller said. “Through this board, we will move ahead quickly toward our ultimate goal of success, thereby providing a new, sustainable industry in The Bahamas.”

The chairman said that the management team will be a part of a new initiative of the studio, which will include a series of alterations in the corporation’s facilities, filming and job opportunities for Bahamians.

“There are many changes in the works, though none of them will take place over night,” he said. “Among the plans are additional facilities for filming, training for Bahamians in the film industry and moving ahead with several productions in both film and television with a focus on providing jobs and new career paths for Bah-amians.”

The studio has been responsible for producing some of the most monumental cinematography on the island, accommodating the filming of the popular, Pirates of the Caribbean II and III, a movie which has catapulted Grand Bahama to new social and economic heights.

And, with the company setting such ground-breaking developments for the film industry on the island, Fuller said that the new changes would only further the success of the company.

“We are working with several major clients at the moment. We have both feature films and television series in the works,” he said. “Although none of the details can be discussed due to the confidential nature of these projects in development, they will add to our ultimate goal of success.”

The Bahamas Film Studios at Gold Rock Creek offers directors and producers a superb location and full-service facilities.

With government incentive programmes, the company is a treasure for the film, television and music recording industries.
