For the third consecutive year, the Atlantean Guest Activities Division at Atlantis, Paradise Island has won the coveted Premier Recreation Operation Award.
Given to properties that display outstanding leadership in the development and quality recreation programs and services, the plaque is presented by the Resort and Commercial Recreation Association (RCRA).
“To be recognized by some of the most prestigious resorts in the commercial recreation industry is an honor,” said Amanda Felts Director of Guest Activities who received the award at the 22nd annual RCRA Conference at the Renaissance PineIsle Resort, Lake Lanier Island, Georgia.
“Receiving this award for three consecutive years only proves that determination, hard work and an exceptional fun environment can be positive, beneficial and rewarding.”
One of the outstanding projects that led to the award for Amanda and her team was the creation of the board game “Atlantisopoly”, in conjunction with the Desktop Publishing Department and Fort Lauderdale Marketing Department. The game was modeled after the popular board game Monopoly, except with the Atlantis theme and locations.
Atlantis’ Graphic Artist Monica Ginter commented, “It was a fun and challenging project to work on . . . we are often challenged in our work to produce creative an exciting graphics but this effort certainly stretched our imaginations.”
Desktop Manager Michelle Roberts said that the project was definitely a worthwhile one that her department was happy to be a part of. “It is always a pleasure working along with Amanda and her team. To be involved with something that was well received and recognized was fulfilling and I look forward to working on future projects of this magnitude.”
Lisa Linden, Executive Director, RCRA congratulated the Atlantean team on their ability to deliver creative and quality programs ensuring that their company’s mission is met. Linden said, “Amanda and her team are an incredible group of people, and I am proud to have them as members of the Resort and Commercial Recreation Association. When Amanda displayed the Atlantisopoly board game at the conference, I know that the RCRA members were ‘Blown Away’.”
Amanda looks forward to a bright future, “as Atlantis grows, so must the Atlanteans. To be able to capture the trends, keep our creative knowledge and energetic nature intact means that we are willing to set the highest degree attainable in order to gain the respect of our peers. The Atlanteans Activities Department stays focused on what is important to guest satisfaction,” said Amanda.
“To exceed in finding new ways to ‘Blow Away the Customer’ is our number one priority.
You can have a premier property, but without a Recreation Operations Team that is driven, shows leadership and excels above the rest…we would not have been able to receive the Premier Recreation Operations Award at the Resort and Commercial Recreation Association’s 22nd Annual National Conference.”
