newsandinfo Private pilots and Fixed Based Operators from Florida are hosted to a four-day familiarization trip by The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism.
The Islands Of The Bahamas played host to over 30 private aircraft owners, pilots and fixed based aircraft operators last week in a four days, four islands familiarization trip and seminar.
The sixth such trip to be hosted by The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, the aim is to educate fixed based operators on The Islands Of The Bahamas so they can in turn educate their clients.
The Familiarization trip and seminar, which included participation by local FBO Million Air, and Bahamas Customs, was designed to answer every conceivable question on flying to the islands private pilots may have.
In organizing the venture, the Ministry of Tourism hopes to increase the level of visitor satisfaction derived by the many private pilots who frequent the islands from the United States, Canada and Europe.
With the highest number of airports of entry of any destination in the Caribbean, the ministry sees enormous potential for The Islands Of The Bahamas in significantly increasing visitor arrivals from this niche market.
