What To Do in Nassau, Bahamas

Best things to-do in Nassau and Paradise Island, Bahamas

Go to the Beach
romantic stroll on the beachGoing to the beach is one of the most popular things to do in Nassau, as it is on any of the Islands of The Bahamas.  The beach is always easy to get to and it’s free. Many of the hotels and vacation rental homes in The Bahamas are located right on the beach. The ones that are not, are usually a short walking distance from public beach access. A beach experience can be whatever you want it to be. From an exhilarating ride on a jet ski or flying over the coastline on a parasail, to the more relaxing activities like building sand castles or just enjoying the view and the beautiful Bahamas sunshine. An early morning or late afternoon stroll on the beach can be a memorable romantic experience.

Flying Cloud Catamaran
Enjoy a delicious dinner as you watch the sun set from the deck of the Flying Cloud catamaran. Bring your own champagne and let the Captain and his experienced crew sail you through Nassau Harbour while you nibble on the free hors d’oeurves.

Ardastra Gardens and Zoo
Stroll through the five acres of lush gardens at the Ardastra Gardens Zoo and Conservation Center. Take a walk on the wild side with hundreds of mammals, birds and reptiles. Be sure to see the famous pink flamingos on parade. Each adult receives a free t-shirt.

Harbour Island Excursion
Take a round-trip ferry to Harbour Island, Eleuthera, on a Bahamas Fast Ferry Catamaran. The all-day excursion leaves the dock in Nassau at 8:00am and returns by sunset. The package includes a historical walking tour of the beautiful island famous for its pink sand beach, access to changing rooms, beach towels, lounge chairs and an authentic Bahamian lunch. You can choose to stay overnight at one of the many ocean front hotels and catch the ferry back to Nassau in the morning.

Yoga & Meditation Retreat
Experience true bliss at the Sivananda Yoga Retreat on Paradise Island. Meditation sessions are held throughout the day for both beginners and those more experienced in Yoga. Take a Yoga class, enjoy vegetarian meals, shop in the book store. A free boat-ride to the serene getaway is available from the Mermaid Dock in downtown Nassau, or the Paradise Island Ferry Terminal.

Dance The Night Away
As the sun goes down, Cable Beach and Paradise Island heat up, offering fine dining, glitzy casinos, cabaret shows, moonlight cruises, night clubs, and romantic evening strolls. We suggest you confine your evening stroll to Cable Beach or Paradise Island, as the streets of downtown Nassau can be dangerous at night.

Nassau/Cable Beach and Paradise island offer an array of water sports, golf, tennis, and plenty of duty-free shopping.
